In a catwalk

Last Saturday the underwear shop in Figueres called Bonet organized a fashion show to show the new collection of swimming costumes for this summer.

It took place above the shop, in an old modernist flat and I went there to play the saxophone before it started.

The idea to play before the fashion show came from the owners of the shop, who are close friends of my parents. At first, I thought they were joking, but later they asked it me again more seriously and I said "Why not?", so one week before the fashion show I went to the shop to practice my little show, I had to play and walk at the same time and wore a Charleston dress. It seemed a bit difficult at first and that's why I had to go there two days more to practice.

It was the day of the show and I had to go to the hairdresser's the same as all the models. I spent all the morning for an ugly hairstyle which I changed as soon as I came home to have lunch.

At 5:00 p.m. I was already in the shop playing the song one more time before the show. Everything was ready, the music, the lights, the model's clothes, the decoration of the steps, the chairs... So at a quarter to six the owners of the shop opened the doors for the public.

It was the time, the lights were put out and I walked to the middle of the catwalk. I started to play (with a hat on my head) and, at the same time, the lights were turned on. All the people were quiet, I walked around the catwalk and as soon as I finished the song I left. Then, the music for the fashion started.

I only did a little introduction to the parade, but it was really good experience for me because I played alone without music and with a lot of people listening to me.
